every email I get!

And respond to just about everything.

It doesn’t always happen immediately, and when I reply it’s usually short and sweet (I get a lot of mail). But if you’ve got a real question, and I’m the guy to answer it, I’d love to hear from you.

I’m especially interested in:

Mentoring: I got a lot of support as a struggling entrepreneur, and after six startups my main focus now is passing that support along, and helping others to succeed. I know first-hand how hard it is to get ideas off the ground, and I’m happy to offer advice on this score (although I hate advisory boards). Being genuinely helpful takes a big investment of time though, so I’m picky about which organizations I work with. But I’m always looking to meet new ones.

Hearing your pitch: I do occasional seed-stage angel investment, but be warned that I’m a little old-fashioned about it. I like to understand what I’m investing in, and I take my time making decisions. So if you’re a low-energy Bluetooth company, your round is oversubscribed, and you need a decision tomorrow…I’m definitely not your guy. On the other hand, if you’re doing e-commerce, a two-sided network, or a subscription businesses–and you have a little patience–we should talk.
